Broken Glass

Broken Glass

It was with trembling feet that I moved on,
Beyond the stores of wealth
The well-built walls of foe and friend.
I left behind the past and freshly broken shards
of Glass.

The world was so covered in dew,
Like stilled rain over rings of green
And the sound of horses on a morning hunt
Filled the quiet Spring.

Peace was gone from my hands,
Just as was any wealth I had held
Or the ownership of anything worthy of such a
fine Land.

Twas true as I drew away from my world,
I had broken the only thing worth my soul
And this was a simple crystal heart now so shattered
And broken Apart.
