Silence

This poem was inspired by my grandmother. As cheesy as that sounds the real reason behind it is nothing but sad.

The Other Half

Like a Queen, she lost her crown
Like a sea, she lost her shore
Like a bird, she lost her wings
Like a flute, she lost her sound

Like a sky, she lost her blue
Like a star, she lost her glow
Like a fish, she lost her fins
Like a bloom, she lost her hue

For all that is lost
For all that is gone
From the dark it will
birth anew.

See if you can find the meaning.....

My grandmother has been struggling with a disease that has taken away her ability to really speak. She was one of the most talkative people that I have ever met, social and skilled with the tongue. She was a peoples-person, but every since this disease came over her she has not been social. It makes me very sad.
